Since this year, Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone has assisted Fengting town, Luodian county through its industrial poverty alleviation efforts.
Luodian county had a huge harvest of cantaloupes at the end of this June, but poverty-stricken households were facing the problem of slow sales.

The zone issued an initiative to hospitals, schools, enterprises, and institutes, calling for the purchase of the cantaloupes. Through these efforts, 6,810 kilograms of cantaloupes were purchased for a total of 34,050 yuan ($4,834.93).
At the end of September, Fengting town asked the zone for further help in solving its cantaloupe sales problem. The zone helped by purchasing 22,840 kg of cantaloupes worth 114,200 yuan.
In the future, the zone will continue to help Luodian town out of poverty, relying on the zone's economic reach.
