The Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone is accelerating the development of a new industrial zone in the east of Southwest China's Guizhou province in an effort to strengthen the airport economy.
Since it was approved as a national airport economic demonstration zone in 2017, the Shuanglong economic zone, which centers on the Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, has become a new engine for urban and regional development.
Relying on the aviation hub, Shuanglong has been working to develop its high-end manufacturing and modern service industries and create modern industrial bases, regional logistics centers, technological innovation engines, and open cooperation platforms.
It is also developing aviation transportation services, aviation logistics, aviation manufacturing, aircraft dismantling, and remanufacturing industries.
Its aviation logistics park has attracted seven well-known enterprises, including SF Express, Cainiao, and Moutai Smart Logistics.
In addition, the Shuanglong economic zone is accelerating the construction of municipal infrastructures such as urban road networks, pipe networks, and comprehensive pipe corridors. It strives to achieve a mid-to-high-end manufacturing output value of over 80 billion yuan ($12.52 billion) by 2025.
In the future, the Shuanglong economic zone will also focus on the development of major industrial chains for new energy vehicles, new-generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing, and ecological specialty foods.
