Guiyang airport boosts epidemic prevention, control measures

During the novel coronavirus pandemic, Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport is reportedly making every effort to prevent and control the spread of the virus – and it has significantly upgraded its measures in that area of endeavor.

The airport is located in the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone in Guiyang, capital of China's Southwest Guizhou province.

At present, the airport has handed over its arrival hall in Terminal 1 to a specialist government epidemic prevention and control team, which has set up a special inspections facility.

The team has set up special seats, shuttle buses, baggage carousels and terminal areas for screening passengers from medium and high-risk areas.

About 6,000 passengers on 60 flights are checked every day, of whom more than 1,500 need nucleic acid testing.

All departing and arriving passengers and those entering the terminal must take their body temperature. Departing passengers must show their Guizhou Health Code, while arriving passengers must check in their health code and communication big data itinerary card.

All passengers and staff members entering the terminal must wear masks throughout the entire process.

Those from medium, high-risk areas with a 48-hour nucleic acid test negative report will be released after signing a letter of commitment that they will not reside in medium, high-risk areas.

People without a test report have to get nucleic acid tests at the airport and will be transported by a special airport vehicle to a fixed isolation hotel to await a nucleic acid test result. If there is no abnormality, they can be released.
