The new 220-kilovolt Guli transformer substation started operation on Oct 1 – located in the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone, in Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province – and it is expected to provide a boost to the power infrastructure of the area.
It will ensure the electricity needs of a key project in Guizhou – the third phase expansion project of Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport – and is expected to further improve the grid structure of the Shuanglong economic zone to meet the electricity demands of the region.
Starting construction in March 2020, the transformer substation cost 160 million yuan ($24.86 million).
It is designed according to intelligent standards and has the advantages of low carbon and environmental protection functionalities, a small footprint and full video surveillance.
