The Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone, located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, held a series of on-site and online activities during 2021 National Cybersecurity Week on Oct 11-17, to raise public awareness of cybersecurity and boost its cybersecurity protection.
Taking advantage of various theme day events – such as a school theme day, telecommunications day, legal awareness day and financial day – the zone promoted cybersecurity in schools and communities. The aim was to enhance awareness, especially among senior citizens and children who are deemed to be more gullible.

The zone invited a cybersecurity expert to give a briefing in Guizhou Shuanglong Experimental High School on Oct 11, enabling more than 200 teachers and students to learn about the classified protection of cybersecurity and cyber fraud prevention.
On Oct 14, the cybersecurity authorities from the zone's public security branch bureau, together with local community workers, went to communities and taught seniors about cyber fraud protection.
The primary and secondary schools in the zone encouraged their students to join the promotional activities, holding themed class meetings and making special newspapers and display boards.
Furthermore, the zone set up a special column for 2021 National Cybersecurity Week on its WeChat platform, to popularize the measures and activities of the zone's cybersecurity week with both words and pictures. The WeChat platform also re-posted a cybersecurity-related video and information from the Ministry of Public Security.
Plans are for the zone to use the National Cybersecurity Week as an opportunity to spread the word about cybersecurity promotion.
