Guiyang airport's new terminal set to open

The new Terminal 3 building at Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport will officially be put into use on Dec 15, according to Guizhou Airports Group Co.

The airport is located in Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Currently, workers are putting the finishing touches on the terminal, including installing vital pieces of machinery and equipment.

From Dec 13, some airlines will start trial operations from the new terminal.

The Terminal 3 project was undertaken by China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Group Co. It is a core part of the third phase of the expansion project of Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, and a core component of Shuanglong economic zone's 2018-30 development plan.

The terminal has been designed to handle up to 30 million passengers, 250,000 metric tons of cargo and mail, and 243,000 aircraft movements annually by 2025.

It consists of a main building and a corridor, with a total length of 522 meters running from north to south and 360 meters from east to west, as well as a total construction area of 196,000 square meters.

As the first smart and efficient smart airport in Guizhou, the airport is also equipped with smart facilities for passengers to experience one-stop smart travel services, making travel more efficient and convenient.
