The voluntary tree planting site in the zone is close to the shoreline of the tributary of the Limushan River.
During the activity, 300 cherry trees were planted. Yang said the survival rate of seedlings at the tree-planting site was closely related to the environmental restoration project of the banks of the Limushan River in the zone. He said it was also related to greening around resettlement houses in the area.
Yang also examined an exhibition board on the zone's land greening situation and learned about forestry development in the zone.
Since its establishment in 2014, the zone is said to have established a good forest ecosystem, through the greening of passageways, the improvement of forest management, artificial afforestation of 13,000 mu (866.67 hectares) and the mountain management of 804 mu of land.
In addition, the zone has reduced the forest belt around the city by 17,607 mu and the local public welfare forest by 20,948 mu through the integration of the forest belt resource map. This is said to have greatly released much-needed construction and development space.
