The Siji Huayuan Fresh Market in the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone – located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – will open to the public on April 23.
The market is located near Guiyang University and Guizhou Police College, and has a total construction area of 1,440 square meters.
It serves Siji Huayuan, Xinye, Jingdian Tiancheng and Yulong Banwan residential communities, covering a population of more than 20,000.
The market is divided into an internal sales area and a rental area. The internal sales area will include areas for selling fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, eggs, grain, oil, seafood, and dry goods, while the rental area will be used for daily necessities, hardware, electrical machinery, pharmaceuticals, and gourmet food.
The market can accommodate about 70 operating households, and about 50 merchants intend to set up shop there. Contracts are being signed one after another.
It took just six months to complete the project.
A resident surnamed Jin, who lives in the Jindian Tianchen Residential Community, said: "The market conveniently allows us to buy groceries near home."
