After its establishment in 2014, the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone has been committed to building an urban park system integrating forest parks, wetland parks, urban parks, mountain parks, and community parks.
As a result, the Shuanglong Central Ecological Park was established.

Since construction started at the end of 2015, a total of more than 1 billion yuan ($148.28 million) has been spent building the park, which covers an area of more than 1,800 mu (120 hectares).
The park is divided into four sections and boasts about 2,600 cherry trees.
The park also features multiple circular tour routes, battery car tour trails, fitness trails, waterfront trails, and mountaineering plank roads.
In addition, for the convenience of tourists driving their own cars, two large parking garages have been built at the park using intelligent three-dimensional parking garage technology and capable of accommodating about 1,500 vehicles.
Today, the park is a city-level demonstration park for the construction of a city of a thousand gardens in Guiyang.
