The city of Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has been officially recognizing COVID-free residential communities since Sept 13, in order to build solid barriers for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As of Sept 17, some 26 residential communities in the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone in the city were given the status.
A COVID-free residential community meets five criteria: there are no new positive infections in the community for seven consecutive days; management and control measures for close contacts and sub-close contacts in the community are all in place; management of yellow-coded personnel in the community is in place; nucleic acid test results of community members are all negative and residents voluntarily propose to build facilities related to tough isolation.
