Construction on the principal part of the "one bureau and four centers" project in the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone, a national airport economic demonstration zone in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been completed, and the project will be put into operation in March, local media reported.
The project has a planned floor area of 305,668.4 square meters and a total investment of 1.83 billion yuan ($270 million).
"One bureau" refers to the International Mail Exchange Bureau, while "four centers" refers to the International Express Center, Bonded Logistics Center (Type B), International Freight Center and Customs Supervision Center.
The project is a key part of the province's efforts to expand opening-up. It will serve as a platform for export-oriented economy and promote the development of international trade.
When completed, it will become a comprehensive port economic zone with extensive import and exports and diverse business models, greatly improving the efficiency of customs clearance, helping enterprises in the economic zone reduce the production and logistics costs and boosting the development of export-oriented economy.
A fast customs clearance model interacting with airports will be established to provide integrated services such as port logistics, international trade, bonded warehousing, financing for the international logistics supply chain, testing and maintenance to the upstream and downstream companies of the industrial chain in the economic zone.
