Relying on its role as a hub, the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone, a national-level demonstration area for the airport economy, considers a business-friendly environment key to boosting high-quality economic development in the region. It has accelerated infrastructure construction and launched an array of preferential policies to facilitate investment.

The zone is home to a number of leading enterprises, including the famous Guizhou chili sauce brand Laoganma and AVIC Heavy Machinery Co, an industry leader listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

"This year, the economic zone will carry out the '1+N+1' service system to guarantee the launch of key projects and help enterprises become stronger and attract more investment," said Yang Renzhong, secretary of the zone's Party working committee.

'Single-window' and door-to-door services

Since 2022, the zone's government affairs center has deepened "decentralization, management and service" reforms and set up a single window to simplify administrative procedures and offer tailored services for residents and enterprises. The economic zone requires responsible departments at all levels to provide door-to-door services and help companies solve problems.

Optimizing the business environment

Since last year, the economic zone has introduced 10 measures to speed up industrial development and attract investment.

"A good business environment is essential for attracting investment, which is the lifeline of economic development," Yang said.

Leading enterprises

Li Xin, executive deputy general manager of Laoganma, said that the development of the company would not have been possible without strong support from the local government. Laoganma's daily output exceeds 3 million bottles, and its products are exported to more than 130 countries and regions around the world.

"This year, we will further optimize our product, market and personnel structure. The company will invest 1.2 billion yuan ($175.14 million) in the construction of the second phase of the Chunmei Factory," Li said.

Gao Fei, director of the office at AVIC Heavy Machinery's Guiyang Aviation Industrial Park, said: "We decided to base our projects in the zone due to its comprehensive policy support, good transportation infrastructure and the development potential of the aviation industry."
