In recent years, the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been working to boost the high-quality development of its tourism sector.
Currently, the zone is home to a number of distinctive tourist attractions, such as Shuanglong Ecological Park, the Colorful Town of Guizhou, Guizhou Polar Ocean World, and China Railway International Eco-City.
Located in the core area of the zone, Shuanglong Ecological Park is a leisure park for locals with eight scenic spots. Near the ecological park is Shuanglong Eco-Sports Park, which is the first multi-function park equipped with an indoor comprehensive stadium including a swimming pool and outdoor facilities, such as football fields.
Guizhou Polar Ocean World is the first and largest comprehensive marine exhibition hall in the province. The number of visitors it received in the first quarter of this year has recovered to more than 80 percent of its 2019 total.
As a provincial-level tourist resort, China Railway International Eco-City is a comprehensive industrial new city integrating tourism, vacation, leisure, health care, and other functions. In the first quarter of 2023, its hot spring received around 30,000 visitors. Moving forward, it will further the integration of health care and tourism to become the national new health care destination.
In addition, the first-quarter sales of Sasseur (Guiyang) Outlets, a retail giant in the zone, hit 350 million yuan ($50.89 million), a year-on-year growth of 15 percent.
In the future, the zone will develop more tourism products to build itself into a tourism hub.
