The 2023 sports meeting of Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, kicked off on May 15 at the Shuanglong Ecological Sports Park.

The sports meeting will last 20 days, and more than 1,600 people from departments of the zone, State-owned enterprises, private enterprises, schools, hospitals, and agencies are expected to participate.
In recent years, this event has emerged as a remarkable sporting extravaganza, boasting the highest number of participants and the grandest scale of competitions ever witnessed in the zone. It encompasses a wide array of sports, making it a comprehensive sports meeting of unprecedented magnitude.
The sports meeting sets up a total of seven exhilarating events, showcasing a diverse range of athletic pursuits. These include basketball, football, table tennis, badminton, swimming, chess, and fun competitions.

"In preparation for the competition, we have extended an invitation to professional coaches who will train us twice a week. We will go all out to win the competition," said Zhang Yunlong, a basketball player from Guizhou Civil Aviation Industry Group Co.
Zhang added that sports meeting serves as a platform to showcase the team spirit and collective image of diverse departments, enterprises, and institutions within the zone. Furthermore, it fosters greater communication, exchange, and friendship among participants, Zhang added.
