The first batch of 190 affordable rental homes in the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been officially opened to the public to help local residents and university graduates live within their means in more comfortable conditions.

According to Guizhou Shuanglong Development and Investment Group Property Company, the rental properties are available for those who are eligible and interested in living in the new city of Mazhai in the airport economic zone.

The properties, completed in 2022, offer two-bedroom, one-living room units with a living area of 76 square meters, fully furnished with appliances. The monthly rental price is set at 16.18 yuan ($2.26) per square meter. The rental term is three years, with the possibility to extend on a case-by-case basis.

In addition, to attract more college graduates for employment and business start-ups, the Shuanglong zone will offer rental subsidies of 500 yuan to 1,500 yuan per month to undergraduates, master's degree, and doctoral students.

The first 190 units of affordable rental homes have been released to meet the demands of new residents and talented professionals in a bid to better attract and retain high-caliber human resources. Another 900 such rental homes are planned for the Shuanglong zone.
