With the gradual recovery of the cultural and tourism market in Southwest China's Guizhou in 2023, the cultural and tourism economy of the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone has been booming.

From January to August, three A-level scenic spots in the zone received a total of 1.61 million visits, a year-on-year increase of 44.27 percent.

The eight hotels above a designated size – those with an annual output value of 2 million yuan ($274,366.6) or more – in the zone have achieved total revenue of 68.15 million yuan, a year-on-year growth of 27.1 percent.

As more and more tourists flock in, the Sasseur (Guiyang) Outlet, a retail giant in the zone, saw more than 6 million tourists from January to August, with monthly sales exceeding 100 million yuan, far surpassing the level in the same period in 2019.

In addition, the zone has been actively seeking investment in regions such as the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta, expanding the scale of the cultural and tourism market.

So far, the zone has introduced three cultural and tourism projects with a total investment of 1.18 billion yuan, two of which are hotels.
