Sixteen weiqi teams from eight ASEAN countries and eight domestic cities are competing in this three-day, six-round tournament, fostering friendship and cultural exchanges.

The tournament follows the latest weiqi competition rules and scoring system approved by the Chinese Weiqi Association, with matches being played in a team format. Each round will have a basic time limit of 40 minutes per player, with an additional 30-second countdown for each move.

Prizes will be awarded to the top four teams in both the domestic and international divisions. Each division will have one first-place winner, one second-place winner, and two third-place winners, with four participants receiving participation awards.

Furthermore, the Chinese Weiqi Association has invited two world weiqi champions, Jiang Weijie and Tang Weixing, to serve as special guests for live commentary during the tournament and provide guidance to players.

The tournament will enhance communication and exchanges between China and ASEAN countries and contribute to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
