Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport handled a total cargo throughput of 3,763.99 metric tons between Jan 26, the start of this year's Spring Festival travel rush, and Feb 3. This marked an increase of 20.11 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

Of that, the international cargo throughout reached 321.11 tons, marking an increase of 8,842.08 percent compared to 2023. In terms of product categories, seafood, mail, flowers, and fruits and vegetables have seen significant increases in cargo throughout.

On Feb 2, the daily cargo throughput at the airport reached 495.26 tons, setting a new record for single-day freight volume during the Spring Festival rush.

In response to the changing aviation market environment and higher transportation security requirements in 2024, Guizhou Civil Aviation Industry Group Logistics Company has implemented a 24-hour duty system for key positions, thereby enhancing its operational security capabilities during the Spring Festival rush.

It has also flexibly adjusted its human resources work during peak cargo transportation periods, which will effectively alleviate congestion and enhance cargo transportation efficiency.

The company will continue to seize market recovery opportunities, improve its air cargo transportation security capabilities and efficiency, and accelerate the improvement of its route network layout, to provide strong support for the high-quality development of air cargo transportation at the airport.
