The Guizhou Provincial Government announced the list of winners for the 2023 Guizhou Provincial Science and Technology Awards, with eight projects from Guizhou Shuannglong Airport Economic Zone receiving awards.
Among them, the project titled "Theory and Population Monitoring and Control Mechanism of Major Agricultural Pests Migration and Flight" jointly researched by Guiyang University, Nanjing Agricultural University, and Hangzhou Normal University, won second-place for the natural science award.
The research titled "Structural Analysis of Solutions to Riemann Problems for Several Types of Nonlinear Conservation Law Systems" received third-place for the natural science award.
Another six projects won second and third-place prizes for the scientific and technological progress award.
In recent years, the Shuanglong zone has been actively encouraging enterprises in its jurisdiction to participate more vigorously in innovation and development. In addition to providing business guidance services to local enterprises, the zone has also actively assisted these enterprises in applying for scientific and technological support funds at the provincial and municipal levels.
In 2023, enterprises in the zone received nearly 9 million yuan ($1.24 million) in scientific and technological support funds.
These series of measures have created a strong atmosphere of scientific and technological innovation among enterprises in the zone.
