The Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone ushered in a consumption boom during the New Year holiday from Jan 1 to 3.
Sasseur Outlets, the zone's largest commercial complex, achieved sales revenue of over 26 million yuan ($3.72 million) and an accumulated passenger flow of more than 150,000 visitors, showcasing an active holiday consumption scene.
The outlets also prepared activities, including a New Year's Eve countdown and fireworks, creating a festive atmosphere for customers.

A representative of the commercial complex said that the promotion of the activities has attracted many consumers in the urban area of Guiyang and the surrounding areas.
The "2026 Ice and Snow Lantern Festival", held in Colorful Valley, has been popular since New Year's Eve, attracting more than 32,000 tourists and reaching a daily peak of 14,000, igniting the zone's winter cultural tourism consumption boom.
Activities, including pop-up parades, children's performances, and magic shows, added to the festival's appeal. The intangible cultural heritage Datiehua (iron fireworks) and a bonfire party ignited the night atmosphere, allowing tourists to immerse themselves in the unique charm of this "snow town".

The festival, which runs until March 3, features snow viewing, cultural experiences, and interactive entertainment and is becoming an important window to showcase the winter charm of "Cool Guiyang".
